As we gathered for our AGM in a local village hall there was a real sense of optimism amongst Wensum Farmers.
The meeting gave the normal run down of finances and the legalities but we swiftly moved on to a review of all the milestones we had hit in the last 12 months, took a look at the new water quality monitoring plan, heard about the upcoming projects that are to be the group focus and also looked forward to 10 years: what do we want to achieve?
One of the short term goals (within the next 5 years) is already well on its way to being achieved. The aim of attending external events and engaging with the general public about the environmental work we are undertaking as a cluster, will remain important throughout the next few years. On Sunday, we attended our local Open Farm Sunday at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse where we spoke to young and old alike about where their food comes from and what biodiversity benefits when we improve certain habitats.
